Little-known fact, in the course of the production period for the original Navitimer Ref. 806, the number of these beads – the small markings around the bezel – varied from as many as 125 in the early 1950’s to as few as 93 in 1960.
L'histoire
La Navitimer 1959 Edition en or rouge 18 carats rend hommage au modèle le plus emblématique de la marque Breitling. Il s’agit en effet de l’un des premiers designs les plus convoités de la Navitimer, dans une édition limitée à 159 exemplaires. La Navitimer 1959 Edition en or rouge 18 carats présente un cadran noir avec des compteurs de chronographe blancs contrastants. Recréant l’un des éléments distinctifs de la Navitimer Ref. 806 d’origine de 1959, le cadran, protégé par un plexiglas bombé, est agrémenté d’une inscription Breitling en lettres capitales et du logo ailé non signé. En fait, les seules concessions faites à la modernité concernent l’étanchéité, qui atteint désormais 3 bars (30 mètres), et le revêtement Super-LumiNova® avec une attention toute particulière portée à sa couleur afin que celle-ci soit fidèle à l’ancienneté du revêtement luminescent utilisé sur les montres de l’époque. L’application du cadran finie à la main lui donne une touche vintage supplémentaire et tout son caractère. La Navitimer 1959 Edition doit son fonctionnement au Calibre manufacture Breitling B09 développé en interne. Ce calibre à remontage manuel certifié COSC s’inspire du célèbre Calibre manufacture Breitling 01. La Navitimer 1959 Edition en or rouge 18 carats est disponible sur un bracelet en cuir marron avec une boucle ardillon en or rouge 18 carats et est limitée à 159 exemplaires.
