PRODUCTION SPAN: 1963

1963 brings us the Navitimer Mk3 and a major redesign. Soon after migrating the 1962 AVI line to the new contrasting subdials, the Navitimer gets a new livery too: contrasting silverwhite subdials on the black base dial. A new set of slim tapered baton hands replace the syringe, and the chrono sweep hand now has the "arrow tip" that we see still on the Navitimer today. Look closely and you'll notice that even the subdial hands are redesigned. Here, sword hands now replace the thin baton hands of the earlier Mk1 and Mk2.

The Mk3 is described as a transitional execution, as it combines these new design features with the classic beaded bezel cases of earlier executions.
