The Old Navitimer I is introduced with the reference number 81610, then renamed the A13019 when the new model number format is established. The first automatic Navitimer launched by Ernest Schneider, the Old Navitimer holds a Breilting cal. 13, based on the "workhorse" ETA cal. 7750. The cases still have "snap on" casebacks and mineral glass crystals.

The Old Navitimer I has hour and minute counters and "running seconds" in a 6/9/12 layout, and a date display at 3.

Red accents feature on both the dial and the "sloped" slide rule. The logo is "Breitling Wings & Anchor".

Caliber: automatic Breitling cal. 13, based on ETA 7750
Case: tapered lugs, 40.3mm diameter
Bezel: serrated pointed notch bezel, ca. 41.5mm diameter
Dial: black with silverwhite subdials at 6/9/12, red accents on dial and slide rule
Hands: lumed tapered baton hands, arrow tip chrono sweep
