Historic details
PRODUCTION SPAN: 1963

The Navtimer Cosmonaute Mk4 use cases manufactured in 1963 with "regular" 40.3mm rice-bead bezels. As the small production batch for this execution was shared with Navitimer 806, we have no precise quantity of assembled Mk4, but it is quite rare.

In late 1963, Breitling introduced a new Navitimer ref. 806 dial design that was also used for Navitimer Cosmonaute ref. 809 from Mk3 onwards: contrasting silverwhite subdials on the black base dial. A new set of slim tapered baton hands replaced the syringe, and the chrono sweep hand became the "arrow tip" that we see still on the Navitimer today. Look closely and you'll notice that even the subdial hands are redesigned. Here, sword hands replace the thin baton hands of the earlier Mk1 and Mk2.

Several logo variations were available, including applied wings both in "AOPA" and Breitling-branding, some without "Cosmonaute" on the dials
