Since 2016, Breitling has been on every SWISS flight as official onboard timekeeper. The Swiss roots and heritage the two brands share are the foundation of their successful partnership. Swiss International Air Lines and Breitling are united by a passion for aviation and an unwavering commitment to quality and precision. “Our close partnership with Breitling is based on a shared understanding of premium quality and our Swiss values,” comments Markus Binkert, Chief Commercial Officer of SWISS.
To celebrate the partnership with Swiss International Air Lines, Breitling is launching two exclusive timepieces: the Navitimer Aviator 8 B01 SWISS Limited Edition and the Navitimer Aviator 8 Automatic SWISS Limited Edition. Both models are available to purchase aboard SWISS flights and can also be preordered. Each watch comes with a Captain’s Certificate issued by the captain of the flight stating the exact altitude at which it was purchased.
The Navitimer Aviator 8 Automatic SWISS Limited Edition is a truly stylish timepiece. Striking design features such as the base of the central chronograph second hand in the shape of an airplane and the design on the caseback based on a powerful turbine highlight the brand’s connection to Swiss International Air Lines. The stainless-steel case houses a Breitling Caliber 17, a movement with a bidirectional rotor winder that provides a power reserve of more than 40 hours. This 41-millimeter chronometer features a striking black dial, and its retro styling is perfectly complemented with a brown leather strap. This special timepiece is limited to 1,000 watches.
The Navitimer Aviator 8 B01 SWISS Limited Edition is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. The central chronograph second hand features an aircraft-shaped base, which, along with the distinctive transparent sapphire caseback featuring a GE90 turbine engine design, is a reminder of Breitling’s special partnership with Swiss International Air Lines. This distinctive chronograph is a COSC-certified chronometer and will be produced in a limited edition of 777 – a number that pays tribute to the SWISS fleet of Boeing 777 airliners.
