The story

The Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown pays tribute to the original 1957 SuperOcean and the cool, laid-back surfing lifestyle of the 1960s. Co-designed with Kelly Slater’s surf wear brand, it features a special ECONYL® yarn Nato strap, repurposed from nylon waste pulled out from the oceans, like fishing nets. Available in stainless steel, the 42 mm case features two signature elements of the original SuperOcean: a concave bidirectional ceramic bezel and a dial featuring oversized indices. Codesigned with Kelly Slater’s surf wear brand, the Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown is paired with a brown Outerknown NATO strap crafted from ECONYL® yarn. The Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown is powered by the Breitling Caliber 10, a COSC-certified chronometer.

Breitling, Outerknown, and ECONYL® yarn A story of sustainability

Breitling sustainable NATO strap collection was created in cooperation with Outerknown and offers fresh and vibrant colors.
While they were designed specifically for Breitling Superocean collection, they can be paired with any Breitling watch.
Not only do they contribute to the superb design codes of watches like the Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown, they also support Breitling’s unrelenting dedication to sustainability. ECONYL® yarn is created exclusively from recycled nylon waste, some of which is recovered from discarded or lost fishing nets. The straps are not only recycled but are also completely recyclable.
