THE PREMIERS DE CORDÉE ASSOCIATION

The association Premiers de Cordée was born from a desire to share. More than 20 years ago, high-level athletes took on the challenge of bringing sports to those who are the most distant from it: children who are ill and/or disabled. The idea is simple, beautiful, and effective: to pass on the benefits of sport and its values of solidarity, competitiveness, and respect directly to the health care sector. Today, as part of its Sport in Hospitals program, this French association, which is recognized as a nonprofit organization, offers numerous free sports activities for hospitalized children. Thus, each year, Premiers de Cordée introduces nearly 8000 sick or disabled children to sports with the help of 150 volunteers and sports educators. Premiers de Cordée is more than just an association. It is a genuine family that works alongside great champions who have become its ambassadors, such as soccer player Kylian Mbappé, skater Nathalie Péchalat, rugby player Maxime Médard, handball player Thierry Omeyer, cyclist Marion Rousse, coach Arsène Wenger and wheelchair tennis champion Stéphane Houdet, the flag bearer for the French team at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

BREITLING CONTINUES ITS COMMITMENT TO PREMIERS DE CORDÉE

Breitling is supporting the positive impact of sport on children's lives by continuing its partnership with the French association Premiers de Cordée, which helps hospitalized children participate in sporting activities. “Sports have always been a major component in Breitling’s history,” explains Édouard d’Arbaumont, Breitling’s Director for Southern Europe. “Sports are not just about champions and big competitions. Sports are also about teamwork and generosity. The actions taken by Premiers de Cordée to help sick and disabled children are outstanding. Breitling wanted to make a commitment to help the association continue its sports programs in hospitals. This is a strong and valid commitment for the brand.” Breitling’s support allows Premiers de Cordée to pursue programs such as Sports Week in Hospitals, Escape Days, Mobi’Sport in Hospitals and a Dance Tour.

BREITLING LAUNCHES A SUPEROCEAN HERITAGE FEATURING THE ASSOCIATION’S COLOR

Breitling is launching a 2023 edition Superocean Heritage Premiers de Cordée, limited to 250 numbered pieces, that is exclusively available in France. This elegant sea watch features a stainless-steel case and a unidirectional bezel with a polished ceramic ring. The association’s signature turquoise color is featured on the seconds hand, accentuated by subtle reminders on the indexes. Like previous years, we added an original engraving related to the collection we used on the caseback. This year, Axel, Premiers de Cordée’s mascot, is holding a surfboard—a wink to the association’s work, and our stylish water-ready watch. A significant portion of the sales proceeds will be donated to the association.
