The Superocean Heritage collection traces its roots to two pioneering Breitling dive watches launched in 1957: the Ref. 1004 (a refined time-only model) and the Ref. 807, the world's first dedicated diving chronograph. From the very beginning, these pieces stood apart for balancing technical performance with refined aesthetics—featuring arrow-shaped hour hands, lance-shaped minute hands, and an anodized rotating bezel. The Superocean Heritage B01 Chronograph 42 faithfully reinterprets this legacy, combining the authentic spirit of the 1950s originals with a modern manufacture-level chronograph movement, a ceramic-inlay bezel, and on-trend color-matching details that let the watch move effortlessly from the waves to the waterfront.

The Superocean Heritage B01 Chronograph 42 is equipped with the Breitling Manufacture Calibre B01, the brand's flagship in-house chronograph movement. It is a self-winding mechanical calibre beating at 28,800 vph (vibrations per hour), with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours and 41 jewels. The integrated column-wheel and vertical clutch mechanism delivers chronograph measurements to an eighth of a second, with a 30-minute counter. A date display appears at 6 o'clock. The Manufacture Calibre 01 is COSC-certified as a chronometer, representing Breitling's highest standard of in-house precision watchmaking.

The watch features a 42 mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 14.55 mm and a lug-to-lug width of 22.05 mm. Compared with the larger 44 mm variants in the Superocean Heritage line, the 42 mm diameter strikes a slightly more refined balance between contemporary sporting presence and versatile wearability.
