PRODUCTION SPAN: 1956-1962
The Venus 178 Mk2.2 adds a small design tweak to the bezel: fewer (but larger) rice beads now improve the grip. Over the long production period of this execution, we see the bead-count dwindle from 98 to 94 and then to 93 with the last beaded-bezel Navitimer appearing in the early 1960s.
Caliber: Venus 178, BOW-coded for early examples, then WOG from late 1956 onwards
Case: tapered lugs, ca. 40mm diameter
Bezel: larger beads, ca. 40.3mm diameter
Dial: black, monochrome slide rule
Hands: wide lumed syringe, wide counterweight chrono sweep
